10 injured in Russian strike on Odesa city centre, including two rescuers
An 11-storey administrative building was hit; three people hospitalized and others treated at the scene, authorities say.
At least 10 people were wounded in a Russian strike on the centre of Odesa, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.
The attack struck an 11-storey administrative building in the city centre, damaging the structure and several vehicles. A fire broke out and emergency teams were deployed to extinguish the blaze and clear the scene.
Details on the injuries and response
A second strike hit while rescuers were already working at the scene, injuring two members of the response teams. "At the moment we have information about 10 injured people – people who were moving by car or on foot along the street", said Marina Averina, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa. "Unfortunately, among the injured are two members of our team, who were injured as a result of the second strike", she added.
According to authorities, three of the wounded were taken to hospital while the remainder received medical assistance at the scene.
Local officials said the attack caused significant material damage. Rescue teams continued clearing debris and dealing with the consequences of the strikes after the incident.
