100 kilograms of cocaine seized in roses shipment at Athens airport
100 kilograms of cocaine were found inside a shipment of roses from Colombia at Athens International Airport; six people arrested.

Greek customs officers at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos seized 100 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a consignment of roses that arrived from Colombia.
Six people were arrested during the operation. Four of the suspects were detained at the airport while they were collecting the consignment, and two were arrested in eastern Attica.
How authorities uncovered the shipment
Officials said the discovery followed investigative work led by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) office in Athens. The probe included officers from the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.
Authorities reported that most of those arrested are Albanian nationals. The package of roses and the 100 kilograms of cocaine are now in police custody as the investigation continues.
Law-enforcement sources said searches and further inquiries are ongoing as investigators work to identify the wider trafficking network and any additional suspects connected to the shipment from Colombia.
