At least 14 killed in Russian drone strike on Dnipro central railway station
Ukrainian officials say an 11-year-old was among the wounded; Zelensky demands new sanctions from the US, Europe and the G7.

At least 14 people were killed and another 14 wounded when a Russian drone struck the main railway station in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, local authorities said. Among the wounded was an 11-year-old boy.
The state rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia said a passenger train that was due to travel to the southern city of Zaporizhzhia stood at one of the platforms when the strike occurred. Dozens of travellers were on the platform despite an earlier alert raising the level of danger.
"Unfortunately, there were still a large number of people on the platform," said Oleksandr Percovski, director of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Damage, images and local reaction
Borys Filatov, mayor of Dnipro, described the strike as a tragedy and said a civilian electric train was hit. Photographs released by Ukrainian rescue services showed heavy damage to the platform and to the train, including a large crater and shattered windows.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian forces attacked a platform where two trains — a suburban and a passenger service — were present. He called for additional sanctions from the United States, European countries and the G7 against Moscow.
Zelensky also criticized a recent agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, arguing it had softened some sanctions on Russia, including measures linked to US imports of Russian diesel.
There has been no official comment from Moscow about the attack on the railway station. Russian authorities routinely deny intentionally targeting civilians and say strikes on Ukrainian rail infrastructure are aimed at sites used to move military personnel and equipment.
