Robinho Junior to join Genoa on loan

Genoa have reached a verbal agreement with Santos for the signing of 18-year-old forward Robinho Junior, the son of former Brazil international Robinho, the clubs announced on August 29, 2026. The deal is structured as a loan with an option for Genoa to buy the player permanently.

Transfer details and next steps

Robinho Junior is already in Italy completing the necessary paperwork and is scheduled to undergo medical tests in Genoa before the move is finalized. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano first reported the development.

The young attacker is versatile across the front line. He made his senior debut for Santos in 2025 and has featured 13 times this season, scoring once. According to the club data, his most recent appearance came on July 21, 2026, and he has seen limited minutes in the period since.

Genoa initially submitted an offer for a ten-month loan that included an €8 million buy option, but Santos declined that proposal at first. After renewed negotiations the two parties have now reached an agreement.

The move will be Robinho Junior's first experience in European football and represents a significant opportunity for the teenager to take the next step in his career in Serie A.
