30 wildfires in 24 hours: 29 extinguished, one under control

Center for Crisis Management says there are currently no active blazes; the remaining fire burns between Slatina and Greshnica in Makedonski Brod.

30 wildfires in 24 hours: 29 extinguished, one under control

Published: 03 August, 2026 09:57. Over the past 24 hours authorities recorded a total of 30 wildfires in open areas, the Center for Crisis Management reported.

According to the Center, 29 of those fires have been extinguished and only one remains under control. At the moment there are no active fires, the agency added.

Fire in Makedonski Brod

The remaining blaze is located between the villages of Slatina and Greshnica in the municipality of Makedonski Brod, where low-stemmed forest and low vegetation are burning.

The Center for Crisis Management said firefighting teams worked through the night to suppress the outbreaks and that the situation is currently monitored while crews continue containment efforts at the site between Slatina and Greshnica.

No other active incidents were reported by the Center for Crisis Management at the time of the update.
