56-year-old Ljupcho missing for ten days, family appeals for help
Relatives say they warned authorities about his mental health and requested hospitalisation before he vanished.
A 56-year-old man named Ljupcho has been missing for ten days, and his relatives together with police continue the search for him.
His grandson, Darko, wrote on social media that the family had repeatedly sought help from authorities before Ljupcho disappeared, stressing that "he has serious mental health problems" and that he sometimes stopped taking his medication.
According to Darko, other residents of the building had also filed complaints about Ljupcho's behaviour. The family says they approached the police and provided a doctor’s referral for hospital treatment and detention.
Family demands organised search and answers
Family members say they were later told the hospital had no capacity because of renovations, and that on one of the last contacts with the police they were told there was little that could be done if Ljupcho appeared calm.
Now the relatives are asking for an urgent, co-ordinated search and an explanation of what steps were taken before his disappearance. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has said it is taking measures to locate him.
The family is asking anyone with information about Ljupcho to call 073-717-090 or contact the nearest police station.
