56-year-old Serbian tourist drowns off Sarti, Halkidiki
He was pulled from the sea unconscious and later pronounced dead at the Agios Nikolaos health center; his body will be taken to Thessaloniki for an autopsy.

On August 10, 2026, a 56-year-old tourist from Serbia drowned in the sea off Sarti, on the second peninsula of Halkidiki.
The man was pulled from the water unconscious. A rescuer immediately administered first aid and attempted to revive him using cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but those efforts were unsuccessful.
He was then transported by ambulance from Sarti to the health center in Agios Nikolaos, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Autopsy to determine cause of death
The body is scheduled to be transferred to Thessaloniki for an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.
Further details are expected following the completion of the forensic examination.
