ICE agent shoots man in Bronx in front of his 5-year-old child
At least seven rounds were fired by a federal agent in Marble Hill; authorities have launched a federal investigation.

An agent from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shot and wounded a 28-year-old man from the Dominican Republic in the Marble Hill area of the Bronx while the man was inside a car with a five-year-old child believed to be his son.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck that authorities say is not life-threatening; the child was not hit and was taken into the care of family members. According to police reports, at least one federal agent fired seven rounds toward the vehicle after approaching the driver as he attempted to park.
Officials demand pause and footage
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said the wounded man has prior police records and alleged gang links. Two agents were also reported injured during the incident. Federal authorities have taken over the investigation.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and New York State Governor Keti Hokul called for a halt to immigration operations in the city and for any body-worn camera footage to be released. Local elected representatives asked for an independent inquiry into the shooting.
The shooting sparked protests in the neighborhood amid heightened ICE activity tied to immigration policy under the administration of President Donald Trump. Details about the precise circumstances that led to the exchange of gunfire remain unclear.
