Ahmeti and Taravari meet in Tetovo to coordinate Brvenica by-election

Leaders of two Albanian parties met in Tetovo on Thursday evening to coordinate their campaign work ahead of the mayoral by-election in the municipality of Brvenica.

Cooperation on a single candidate and ground operations

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) leader Ali Ahmeti and Alliance for the Albanians leader Arben Taravari held the meeting together with senior teams from both parties. The gathering focused on practical steps for mobilising supporters and organising field activities in the run-up to the vote.

According to the DUI party statement, the discussion centred on the parties' joint responsibilities within the National Alliance for Integration (NAI) coalition and their support for the DUI candidate, Arkin Jahiji. "The two presidents are discussing the organization of field activities and the joint commitment of the structures of the 'National Alliance for Integration' (NAI) coalition in support of the candidate for mayor of Brvenica, Arkin Jahiji," the statement said.

The meeting also mapped next steps for coordinating campaign teams on the ground and setting a unified approach for the electoral process in Brvenica.

Other parties have already nominated candidates: the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) put forward Jovica Radeski, the ruling VMRO-DPMNE selected Stojancho Radichevski, and the party Vlen nominated Jakup Huseini.

With votes expected in the coming weeks, the leaders emphasised discipline in mobilization and closer cooperation between their local structures to maximise turnout for their candidate.
