Albin Kurti re‑elected as Kosovo prime minister, cabinet formed
The Assembly approved a largely unchanged government on 13 September 2026, naming deputy premiers and ministers across key portfolios.
On 13 September 2026 the Assembly of Kosovo voted 62–0 to re‑elect Albin Kurti as prime minister, confirming a cabinet that Kurti said largely repeats the programme of the administration formed in February this year.
New cabinet keeps many previous faces; deputy prime ministers named
The parliamentary vote followed presentation of the government's programme. The Assembly approved Glauk Konjufca as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gervalla as Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, and Fikrim Damka as Third Deputy Prime Minister for minority affairs and cooperation.
Key ministerial appointments include Hekuran Murati as Minister of Finance, Andin Hoti as Minister of Labour, Family and Values of the Liberation War, and Ejup Maqedonci as Minister of Defence. Xhelal Sveçla was chosen as Minister of Internal Affairs and Ljulzon Jagdziu as Minister of Public Administration and Digitalisation.
Arben Vitia took the post of Minister of Health, Hajrulla Çeku was named Minister of Education and Science, and Saranda Bogujevci became Minister of Culture and Tourism. Blerim Gashani was appointed Minister of Sport and Youth.
Other portfolio holders confirmed by the Assembly are Elbert Krasniqi as Minister for Local Government Administration, Fitore Pacolli as Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Armend Muja as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Dimal Basha as Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mimosa Kusari‑Lila as Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Artane Rizvanolli as Minister of Economy, Nenad Rasić as Minister for Communities and Return, and Rasim Demiri as Minister of Regional Development.
Kurti's new cabinet will now assume responsibility for implementing the programme presented to parliament; the composition shows continuity with the government formed earlier in 2026 and signals a focus on maintaining existing policy priorities.
