Aleksandar Djordjevic publicly backs Student List ahead of Serbia elections
The coach referenced a 35-year-old memory in Istanbul and appealed directly to young voters on October 19, 2026.

Aleksandar Djordjevic, the former Partizan player and current coach of Turkish Bahcesehir, sent an emotional message of support to the Student List ahead of Serbia's parliamentary elections this coming weekend.
Speaking from Istanbul on October 19, 2026, Djordjevic recalled a defining moment from his playing days and used it to encourage young voters.
"From this hotel we left to win Partizan's third European trophy"
In a message posted on social media he wrote: "October 2026, Istanbul. Swissôtel… The last time I was here was thirty-five years ago. From here we set out to win Partizan's third European trophy.
A victory with a three-pointer with three seconds left…
Forgive me for falling silent for a moment…
We were very young, some of us were still studying. We felt proud and brave, just like today's Serbian youth.
And so, with a deep bow, I take off my cap to you, with the obligation to put our old shoulders under your sneakers, soiled from long marches of love and hope. Touch the brighter sky. You deserve it, much more than all of us before you," Djordjevic wrote.
The message, sent from a Swissôtel in Istanbul, linked the memory of a sporting triumph to a broader appeal for the country's young electorate to take part in the vote.
Djordjevic's post was shared on his verified account as he continues his managerial work in Turkey, where he leads Bahcesehir, and comes days before Serbians go to the polls.
