Alexander Volkanovski retains featherweight title at UFC 333

Alexander Volkanovski, the fighter of Macedonian origin, successfully defended his featherweight title at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, 2026.

The 38-year-old champion stopped previously unbeaten Russian Movsar Evloev by technical knockout in the second round, retaining the belt after a hard-fought contest at the Yas Island card.

Decisive second-round finish

Volkanovski set the pace early, controlling the center of the cage and pressing forward with effective strikes. Evloev absorbed the pressure and traded well in the opening minutes; he even stunned Volkanovski once, but the bout did not stay long on the mat.

At the start of the second round Volkanovski came out sharper, landing heavy shots that forced Evloev to attempt a takedown. Volkanovski regained a dominant position and landed two hard hooks, then after the fighters rose to their feet he landed more powerful blows that sent Evloev to the canvas.

Referee intervention came a few seconds before the round horn as Volkanovski poured on punches on the downed challenger, sealing a TKO victory and a successful title defence in front of the Abu Dhabi crowd.
