Alen Hasanovic: One year after aunt Sanela's death, grief remains

One year after the death of his close aunt Sanela, singer Alen Hasanovic posted an emotional tribute on his Instagram, saying the pain has not faded despite the passing of time.

Hasanovic recalled that Sanela was only five years older than him and had been his greatest support and friend throughout his life. On Instagram he shared a photo accompanied by a message addressed to her.

He wrote: "A year since we are without you... It's hard to believe a whole year has passed since you were not with us. Time has passed, but your absence has not. It still hurts the same; we only learned to carry that pain in silence," signing the post as an emotional singer.

When the tragedy occurred last year, Hasanovic also said farewell to his aunt with another moving message: "If someone had told me your fate in a dream, I would have died of anguish. You were not just an aunt and my mother's sister, but you were my support and friend. We grew up together... Good souls travel where eternal happiness resides."

Personal losses and professional focus

The past period has been difficult for the performer: besides family bereavements, the public was surprised by his divorce from his former wife Aida Cako, after two years of marriage following a wedding that had attracted a lot of attention.

Despite these personal challenges, Hasanovic has remained professionally active. He continues to tour and perform across the region and for diaspora audiences, where he is known as one of the entertainers who creates a lively atmosphere. Videos he posts from shows show him singing many of the biggest Balkan hits and receiving tips from satisfied audiences.

Friends and fans have responded with condolences and support under his posts, while the singer appears determined to keep his focus on music and live performances.
