Alkaloid and Ohrid drawn in third round of EHF European Cup

On October 27, 2026 the Macedonian handball clubs learned their opponents for the third round of the EHF European Cup. Alkaloid was drawn against Slovenia's Gorenje Velenje, while GRK Ohrid will meet Lithuanian Dragunas Klaipeda.
Matchups and outlook
Alkaloid faces a tougher task: Gorenje Velenje is a well-established Slovenian side with significant experience on the European stage, and will present a stern test for the Macedonian side.
Ohrid's assignment is Dragunas Klaipeda, a Lithuanian team with which Macedonian handball already has recent history. The Lithuanian side previously faced Alkaloid and was eliminated in that encounter.
The first legs of the third round are scheduled for November 21 and 22, 2026; the return matches will take place on November 28 and 29, 2026. Both Macedonian clubs will prepare in the coming weeks for these two-legged ties.
Preparations and tactical decisions at club level will determine who advances, but the draw clearly sets up a more demanding route for Alkaloid compared with Ohrid.
