Alkaloid beat Egypt 33-31 in second friendly
Kiril Lazarov's side keep preparing for the season — official opener is on 26 August at Autokomanda against Partizan.
Alkaloid defeated the Egypt national team 33-31 in their second pre-season friendly, continuing preparations ahead of a campaign that will include domestic competitions as well as the EHF European Cup and the Regional League.
Match and context
The victory came in a match played in Skopje while the Egyptian squad is training in the city for the Mediterranean Games. Alkaloid's head coach, Kiril Lazarov, led his side to the 33-31 win.
Alkaloid will play one more closed-door friendly against the same opponent before the season begins. Earlier in their preparations the club also recorded a win over Prilep.
The club emphasises that it arrives at the season after a historic achievement in Europe: Alkaloid became the first Macedonian team to win the EHF European Cup.
Their first official match of the new season is set for 26 August at the Autokomanda hall, when Alkaloid will host Partizan, coached by former North Macedonia national team selector Raul Gonzalez.
