Alkaloid survive dramatic finish to beat GRK Tikvesh 31-30

03 October 2026 — Alkaloid held on for a 31-30 victory over GRK Tikvesh after a tense finish, remaining unbeaten in the Super League with five wins from five matches and sharing first place with Vardar.

Late rally, late answer

The match seemed under control for Alkaloid for long stretches: the team led 18-15 at halftime and extended the advantage to 28-23 early in the 50th minute, a five-goal margin that suggested a routine closing period for the hosts at Avtokomanda.

But Tikvesh mounted a comeback. With roughly two and a half minutes left, the Kavadarci side strung together a 3-0 run and leveled the score at 30-30, forcing a timeout from coach Kiril Lazarov.

Nikola Kosteski answered immediately, converting to restore a 31-30 lead. Alkaloid repelled Tikvesh’s first possession after the timeout called by Grchevski, yet the loose ball found the visitors again and they still had seven seconds to force a draw. Onchev’s final attempt missed wide of the goal, sealing Alkaloid’s narrow win.

Nikola Kosteski and Marko Mitev finished as Alkaloid’s top scorers with five goals apiece, while Ben Mahfud netted seven for Tikvesh.
