Alvaro Morata close to loan move to Leganés from Como
33‑year‑old striker Morata is reportedly set for a loan move from Como to Leganés as clubs negotiate the final details.

Alvaro Morata is close to joining Leganés on a loan deal from Como, in what would be an unexpected step for the 33‑year‑old striker. Clubs are still negotiating final terms before the move is completed.
What the transfer would mean
Morata arrived at Como last season but struggled to find form in Serie A: he scored zero goals and featured in 26 matches for a total of 924 minutes. The Spaniard has previously played at the highest level for Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Milan.
Leganés view Morata as a major addition in their bid to return to La Liga. The Madrid suburban club cannot match the wages he currently earns in Italy, so Como would need to cover part of his salary for a loan to work financially.
For Morata personally it would be a return to familiar surroundings: he was born in Madrid, developed at Real Madrid and has long experience in Spanish football. He also led Spain to the European Championship in 2024 as the team’s captain.
Morata’s trophy collection includes two Champions League titles with Real Madrid, the Italian league with Juventus, the FA Cup with Chelsea and the European Championship with Spain, facts that would make him one of the most notable names in Leganés history.
Final details remain to be agreed between the clubs, but should the loan be completed, Leganés would gain a high‑profile striker as they chase promotion back to La Liga.
