Ancelotti visits Valdebebas and backs Real for a strong season

Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazil national team coach and former Real Madrid manager, visited Real's Valdebebas training complex on September 3, 2026 and met with players and current head coach Jose Mourinho.

Ancelotti praises Mourinho and the squad

During his visit Ancelotti said he and Mourinho have maintained an excellent relationship and often exchange ideas. He praised Mourinho’s qualities as a coach and expressed confidence in the job he will do: "I'm sure it will be successful. Jose is a great coach and I'm confident he will do an excellent job," Ancelotti said.

The Italian also spent time with Real's Brazilian internationals — Vinicius, Endrick, Rodrygo and Eder Militao — who are currently recovering from injuries. He told reporters he is pleased with the way the club has started the season and believes the squad is prepared for major challenges.

"I believe this will be an excellent season for Real," Ancelotti added, reiterating his optimism about the team's prospects.

Ancelotti stressed that Real Madrid still feels like home to him. He said that after leaving the coaching role at the club he became one of its biggest supporters, underlining the personal bond he retains with the club he once managed.

The visit came while Ancelotti is serving as Brazil's national team coach; it was a brief return to the club environment where he previously won multiple titles as head coach.
