Andrej Jakimovski officially presented by Napoli

Andrej Jakimovski was officially presented as a new member of Napoli's basketball team on September 18, 2026. The Macedonian international said he did not hesitate when deciding to join the club despite receiving other attractive offers.

Jakimovski highlighted the role of the head coach and the club's environment when explaining his choice, pointing to both the squad's quality and the supporters in Naples.

"I had no doubts about choosing this project. I know Napoli, I played in this arena as a visitor last year and I know how passionate this club is, with one of the best fan bases in all of Italy. We have a quality roster with excellent players and I believe we can go far, both in the domestic championship and in the EuroCup. Coach Repesa is an excellent strategist and definitely was one of the key factors for me to accept this offer. As I said, Napoli is a serious basketball project and I believe we will be able to achieve the set goals," Jakimovski said.

Repesa, decisive factor

Jakimovski singled out coach Jasmin Repesa as a decisive reason for signing. He underlined Repesa's tactical acumen and the coach's ability to shape competitive teams as central to his decision.

The 24-year-old arrives to a roster Napoli describe as strong and ambitious; Jakimovski expressed confidence the team can compete on both the Italian domestic front and in the EuroCup in the coming season.
