Andrej Jakimovski posts double-double as Napoli beat Reggiana 99-93
The Macedonian international scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 28 minutes as Napoli recorded their second Serie A win on October 3, 2026.
October 3, 2026 — Napoli extended a strong start to the Serie A season by edging Reggiana 99-93, with Macedonian international Andrej Jakimovski delivering a key performance off the bench.
Jakimovski played 28 minutes and finished with a double-double: 17 points and 10 rebounds, the kind of all-around display that helped Napoli close out a competitive game in the final quarter.
Impact on club and country
Head coach Jasmin Repesa has slotted Jakimovski into the rotation without delay, and the player’s mobility and board work were especially valuable against Reggiana’s physical frontline.
Beyond the immediate result, the performance underlines that Macedonia has another useful option as it looks toward the continuation of the Euro 2029 pre-qualifiers and the subsequent qualifying phase.
The win represents Napoli’s second victory in the Italian championship this season and came against a Reggiana side that fought back several times before Napoli secured the margin late.
