Anthropic says Claude now leads 26% of its AI research and development
Anthropic will regularly publish metrics showing Claude’s growing role; company says it collaborated with humans on over 90% of research since August.
Anthropic announced that its artificial intelligence, Claude, now accounts for 26% of the company’s AI research and development work — a figure the firm said it will report regularly as part of efforts to show how quickly AI is contributing to the next generation of the technology.
The company added that Claude has collaborated with humans on more than 90% of the research work carried out at Anthropic since August.
How Anthropic measures the contribution
Anthropic said the 26% figure represents the portion of AI research-and-development effort that Claude is leading under the company’s internal metrics. The announcement forms part of a new set of transparency measures Anthropic intends to share periodically with outside observers.
According to the company, Claude "does not work fully autonomously in any part of the measured work, but its contribution to developing the technology has rapidly increased from 1% in March."
The company’s disclosure underlines how quickly its internal reliance on AI tools has shifted — moving from a barely measurable role in March to a significant share within months.
Anthropic said it will continue to publish these measurements to provide an ongoing view of how its AI systems factor into research activities.
