Fulham have completed transfers for two Real Madrid players in a move driven by their head coach Álvaro Arbeloa.
According to reporter Ben Jacobs, the English club will pay around £35 million for 22-year-old forward Gonzalo García and around £8.5 million for 21-year-old midfielder César Palacios.
Details of the moves
Both deals were reported as initiated by Arbeloa, who previously managed Real Madrid. The signings mark a clear recruitment push by the Premier League side as it strengthens its squad ahead of the new season.
Last season Gonzalo featured in 30 La Liga matches, averaging 31 minutes per appearance, and scored six goals. Palacios played five league matches in Spain during the same campaign.
The two arrivals add depth to Fulham's attacking and midfield options, and the combined transfer fees underline the club's willingness to invest to implement Arbeloa's plans on the pitch.
Fulham officials have yet to release an official club statement detailing contract lengths and other personal terms for the players.
