Arsenal sell Gabriel Martinelli to Al Hilal for €70 million

Arsenal have completed the sale of winger Gabriel Martinelli to Saudi side Al Hilal for a fee of €70 million, marking the highest transfer income in the London club’s history.

Martinelli has signed a four-year contract with Al Hilal and will continue his career in the Saudi Pro League. The 22-year-old leaves Arsenal after seven years at the club, having arrived from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019.

Career at Arsenal in numbers

During his time with the Gunners Martinelli made 278 appearances and scored 62 goals. He also won the Premier League, the FA Cup and two Community Shields with the club.

The move ends a long association between the forward and Arsenal, during which he developed from a young prospect into a first-team regular and key attacking option.

The transfer is effective immediately and will see Martinelli compete in the Saudi Pro League for the coming seasons under a four-year deal.
