Arsenal win at Anfield for first time since 2012 as Havertz seals 1–0
Kai Havertz’s 16th-minute strike gave Arsenal a 1–0 win at Anfield on 1 November 2026, their 300th away victory and moved them three points ahead of Manchester City.

Arsenal defeated Liverpool 1:0 at Anfield on 1 November 2026 in a Premier League match from matchday 9. The only goal came from Kai Havertz in the 16th minute, which proved decisive in a tight derby.
Arsenal take control at the top
The visitors produced the cleaner chances overall and looked the more organised side. Liverpool had moments — McAlister tested the defence and Wirtz struck the crossbar — but could not find an equaliser.
For Arsenal the victory carried extra weight: it was their first Premier League win at Anfield in 14 years, the previous success there having come in 2012.
Statistically the result is also notable as Arsenal’s 300th away win. The three points lift Mikel Arteta’s team to the summit of the table, three points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
The triumph at Anfield strengthens Arsenal’s position in the title race and provides a major psychological boost as the season moves on.
