Arsimi sign Senegalese defender El Hadji Arfang Gaye

11.08.2026 — Arsimi have added a Senegalese central defender to their squad as they react to a difficult start to the season in the Macedonian First Football League. The club from Chegrane announced the signing of El Hadji Arfang Gaye on Tuesday evening.

New arrival with experience in the Balkans and Belgium

Gaye joins Arsimi from Kosovo side Ferizaj. Club information notes that he previously had spells with Mouscron and was part of Lille's youth setup earlier in his career. He is also a former stopper for Shkupi.

The move comes after Arsimi suffered two heavy defeats in their opening two matches of the new PMFL campaign, prompting the club's management to be active in the transfer market.

Earlier this summer Arsimi had already introduced goalkeeper Risto Jankov among other additions, but the recruitment of Gaye is the club's most notable defensive reinforcement to date.

Arsimi's intention is to stabilise their back line quickly as they prepare for the coming fixtures in the domestic championship.

Separate note: This weekend the Women's First League begins — Rabotnicki host in Madzhari, while the Pelister–Kamjani match will be played under floodlights in Bitola.
