Driver hits 10-year-old in Gradsko and flees the scene

A driver struck a 10-year-old child on a street in Gradsko on August 18, 2026, and then fled the scene, the police report said.
"On August 18, 2026, the Veles Police Department reported that at around 13:00 on 'Aleksandar Makedonski' street in Gradsko, a passenger vehicle struck a 10-year-old minor from the village of Ulanci, municipality of Gradsko, after which the driver left the scene with the vehicle. The pedestrian suffered bodily injuries, which were confirmed at General Hospital Veles. An inspection team from the Veles Police Department carried out an on-site examination, and measures are being taken to locate the perpetrator and the vehicle and to clear up the case," the police said.
The injured child was taken to General Hospital Veles, where medical staff recorded bodily injuries. The hospital confirmed that the patient received emergency care; no further medical details were released by the police.
Investigation under way
The on-site inspection was carried out by an investigative unit from the Veles Police Department. Authorities said they have launched search measures to identify both the driver and the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
Local police are continuing evidence collection at the scene and canvassing for witnesses. The case remains open while investigators work to establish the full circumstances of the collision and to locate the responsible party.
