Bayern recover to win 4-1 at Osnabrück in German Cup

02.09.2026 — Bayern Munich began their German Cup campaign with a 4-1 away victory at Osnabrück, overturning an early shock to secure a comfortable win in the first round.

Osnabrück stunned the visitors in the fifth minute when Robin Meissner produced a spectacular long-range strike that beat Jonas Urbig and put the second-tier hosts ahead.

Bayern responded before the half hour mark: Harry Kane levelled in the 18th minute, and Tom Bischof completed the turnaround with a goal in the 24th minute to give the Bavarians the lead.

Second half control and late seal

The visitors continued to control the match after the break, creating the clearer chances around the host goal. Michael Olise extended the advantage to 3-1 in the 73rd minute, effectively deciding the contest.

The final scoreline was set by Kane from the penalty spot in the 86th minute after Aleksandar Pavlović was fouled in the box, making it 4-1 and sending Bayern through to the next round.
