Banya near Bansko: over 70 thermal springs and a public bath from €5
The village of Banya in the Razlog valley offers 70+ thermal springs (up to 58°C) and a new public bath with low prices.

Only five kilometres from the famous winter resort of Bansko lies the small village of Banya, a thermal spa destination built on a rich network of mineral springs. Nestled in the Razlog valley between the Pirin, Rila and Rhodope mountains, the village boasts more than 70 springs whose temperatures can reach up to 58 degrees Celsius.
New public mineral bath
This summer Banya opened a modern public mineral bath aimed at visitors who prefer the therapeutic water without booking a luxury hotel. The facility includes two separate indoor mineral pools (women and men), individual bathtub cabins, and up-to-date changing rooms and showers.
Entrance fees to the public bath are intentionally low to encourage wider access. The price list is:
- Adults: 5 euros
- Pensioners: 2 euros
- Children up to 7 years: free (accompanied by an adult)
- Individual bathtub: 10 euros
- Family bathtub: 15 euros
The village’s location makes it easy to combine mountain activities with spa relaxation: visitors can ski or hike in Bansko and return the same day for a soak in warm mineral water. The combination of altitude, clean mountain air and the natural resources of the springs helps make Banya a year‑round destination.
Beyond the public bath, Banya has grown into a small spa oasis. Several hotels and spa complexes in and around the village offer large outdoor and indoor pools fed directly by the thermal water, saunas, jacuzzis and modern relaxation areas. Local taverns and restaurants sometimes feature their own open thermal pools where guests can enjoy traditional Bulgarian dishes and then relax in a warm pool or outdoor jacuzzi with views of the Pirin peaks. Many of these complexes allow day visitors without requiring overnight accommodation.
