Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 5:2 — Rafinha brace, Jamal seals it
At Camp Nou Rafinha scored twice (now five goals) and Jamal added a late strike as Barcelona beat Rayo 5:2 and returned to the top of LaLiga.

Barcelona produced a convincing 5:2 victory over Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou on August 31, 2026, completing a third straight LaLiga win to start the season. Rafinha and Jamal were decisive when it mattered, with support from an effective Gordon, and the result put Barcelona back on top of the table thanks to a two-goal superior goal difference over Real Madrid — both clubs having three wins from three.
Early shock, quick response and a game that swung back to Barca
Rayo took an unexpected lead when Camello struck in the 12th minute to make it 0:1. Barcelona answered quickly: Rafinha levelled in the 19th minute and Jamal turned the match around two minutes later to make it 2:1 and energise the crowd at Camp Nou.
At the end of the first half Jules Kounde found the net to seemingly extend the lead to 3:1, but VAR intervened and the goal was ruled out for offside.
Early in the second half, in the fifth minute, Gordon delivered a cross into the Rayo box and there Lezhen turned the ball into his own net, giving Barcelona a 3:1 advantage. Rayo refused to fold: Camello converted his second goal of the evening in the 59th minute to pull the visitors back to 3:2.
Any remaining doubts were settled in the 71st minute when Rafinha scored his second of the night to make it 4:2; that strike took him to five goals, moving him to the top of LaLiga's scoring chart. Finally, Jamal put the seal on the win with a goal in the 90th minute for the final 5:2 scoreline.
The victory maintains Barcelona's perfect start and restores them to first place on goal difference. The match was played at Camp Nou on 31.08.2026.
