Barcelona rejected PSG’s opening €40m bid for Ferran Torres and says it will wait for a higher offer that reflects the player’s market value.
10.08.2026 17:15 — Barcelona has turned down Paris Saint-Germain’s first formal bid for Ferran Torres as the two clubs begin transfer talks.
PSG’s opening proposal was a fixed fee of €40 million for the 26-year-old Spanish forward, but Barcelona judged that amount insufficient and rejected the offer.
Club stance and player intent
Barcelona’s refusal follows a clear stance: they will not approve a move until an offer meeting their financial expectations arrives. The club is conscious of Torres’s current market value and insists on a higher fee before allowing the transfer to proceed.
At the same time, Barcelona understands that Torres has already reached an agreement with PSG and is eager to complete the switch to the French side as soon as possible. That player willingness increases pressure on negotiations but does not change Barcelona’s price requirements.
PSG started negotiations with an offer below Barcelona’s expectations, and it is anticipated that the French club will raise their bid in the coming days in an effort to conclude the deal.
