Jeton Beqiri wins first match as Gabala coach with 1:2 away victory
Macedonian coach Jeton Beqiri secured his first victory in charge as Gabala beat Araz 1:2 away on October 23, 2026.
In his third match in charge of Gabala, Macedonian coach Jeton Beqiri recorded his first victory on the club's bench on October 23, 2026, as Gabala won 1:2 away at Araz in Azerbaijan.
Beqiri, a native of Tetovo who took over the Azerbaijani side a few weeks ago, guided the team to the win on the road, breaking a run of poor results and giving his squad a timely boost.
The triumph at Araz is only Gabala's second victory of the season, underscoring how valuable the three points are in the battle to climb out of the lower reaches of the table.
Momentum for the run ahead
With the season still in its early stages, the win provides a platform for Beqiri and his players to build confidence and consistency. The coach will be looking to turn this result into a string of improved performances.
Gabala travel and fixture details were limited in the report, but the immediate effect is clear: the result eases some pressure on the newly appointed coach and offers supporters hope that the club can move away from the relegation zone.
Gabala will now prepare for their next league commitments aiming to follow up the 1:2 victory and accumulate points that can change the trajectory of their season.
