Kisela Voda to give free backpacks and supplies to all first-graders

The Municipality of Kisela Voda has announced it will provide free anatomical backpacks and school supplies to every child starting first grade in schools within its territory.

The programme will cover roughly 530 pupils enrolled in eight municipal primary schools who will begin first grade in September.

Mayor Beti Stamenkoska Trajkoska said the initiative is intended to ease the financial pressure families face before the school year begins.

Support without paperwork

“The first day of school is an important moment for children and parents, and our goal as a Municipality is that it passes without an additional financial burden on the family budget. This project, which is already being applied as a positive example in many other municipalities, confirms our continuous commitment to direct support for citizens. Therefore, I appeal to the parents of future first-graders not to expose themselves to costs and not to buy backpacks and supplies. I want to emphasize that no criteria or additional administrative procedures are required to receive this support, because the measure applies automatically to all enrolled first-graders in the municipality,” said Mayor Beti Stamenkoska Trajkoska.

The municipality stresses that eligible children receive the items automatically and parents do not need to submit applications or meet special conditions.

This year as well, the Municipality of Gazi Baba gives 3,000 denars per first-grader.
