Free basketball training for children aged 10–14 in Probištip

On October 15, 2026 a new grassroots programme called "Basketball for Every Child" was announced to offer free basketball training in Probištip for boys and girls aged 10 to 14. Enrolment is open until 30 October 2026, and the initiative is led by the company Bulmak 2016 in cooperation with the mayor of Probištip, Toni Tonevski.

Organisers say parents will not pay any participation fees. The project will provide basketballs and training equipment for all participants, and will supply full playing gear for athletes selected to represent the town in competitions.

Young players will be registered to compete in the M12 and M14 age categories under the competition system of the Macedonian Basketball Federation, with the aim of giving children regular match practice and a clear competition pathway.

Training staff and logistics

The training programme will be created and overseen by youth selector Aleksandar Jovanchev, who will monitor the training process together with several local basketball coaches. Operational responsibility for the project’s training conditions will rest with the head of flotation at Bulmak 2016 and former basketball player Davor Tonevski.

Probištip has two indoor basketball halls suitable for regular training and youth tournaments. After the registration period ends on 30 October 2026, participant groups will be formed and the schedule of training sessions and matches published.

The project is planned to run for four years — one Olympic cycle — and besides competing for places in M12 and M14 finals, organisers say the long-term objective is to create conditions that could help develop future national-team players and professional basketballers. The programme also marks Bulmak 2016’s 10th anniversary and continues the company’s community and sports support efforts.

Parents wishing to register children aged 10 to 14 can apply until 30 October 2026. For registration and further information contact Nikola Penshov (070/249-331) or Aleksandar Brankovski (075/333-531).
