Boštjan Cesar names Slovenia squad for matches against Scotland, North Macedonia and Switzerland

Slovenia's head coach Boštjan Cesar has announced the squad he will take to the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Scotland, North Macedonia and Switzerland.

The selection contains few surprises and keeps the core of the team intact. The roster is once again led by the squad's most prominent attacker, Benjamin Šeško of Manchester United.

Dates and the North Macedonia match

Of particular interest for North Macedonia supporters is the meeting in Ljubljana: Slovenia host North Macedonia on 29.09.2026 in the second round of the competition. That match will be played at Stožice Stadium with a scheduled kick-off at 20:45.

North Macedonia begin their Nations League programme at home against Switzerland on 26.09.2026, and depart for Ljubljana three days later for the fixture against Slovenia.

Earlier Malus said: "The support of the fans always means a lot to us in matches like these".

With Cesar opting for a largely expected group, the focus now turns to preparation and whether any late fitness issues will affect selection before the international break.
