Brnabić: 'Hunt' to arrest Aleksandar Vučić being prepared after Novi Sad canopy collapse
Brnabić says calls to question and possibly detain Aleksandar Vučić amount to a politically motivated "hunt" after the Novi Sad canopy collapse.

Ana Brnabić, serving as Serbia's acting president, wrote on the social network X that a "hunt for arrest" of Aleksandar Vučić is being prepared after authorities announced possible questioning and an arrest in the probe into the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station.
Questions about who is being investigated
Brnabić asked why members of the technical inspection commission who supervised the project and gave approval without further checks have not been questioned or named as suspects, saying Vučić is being linked to the case because of information he had about how the project was carried out.
She compared the current investigation to a 2004 incident at Paris’s Charles de Gaulle airport, when part of a terminal roof collapsed and four people died; at that time, former French president Jacques Chirac was not the main suspect, she noted.
"Here the aim is to silence and remove Aleksandar Vučić, and not to get to the truth," Brnabić wrote, and she said the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will resist what she called "revolutionary terror."
The collapse in Novi Sad, which left 16 people dead, has prompted mass demonstrations across Serbia and renewed demands for accountability as investigators continue their work.
