Dejan Georgievski wins bronze at Germany Open G1 2026
North Macedonia’s top taekwondo athlete took bronze after a 2–1 win over Aleksej Tarchula and a 0–2 semifinal loss on Sept 21, 2026.
Dejan Georgievski returned to North Macedonia with a bronze medal from the Germany Open G1 2026, following competition held on 21 September 2026.
Georgievski’s route to the podium
In his opening bout Georgievski edged out Aleksej Tarchula of Belarus with a 2–1 victory, securing a spot in the later rounds of the tournament.
In the semifinal he was beaten 0:2 by Iranian Abolfazi Abbasipoja, a taekwondo athlete who competes for a team of expatriates, which relegated Georgievski to one of the two bronze medals awarded at G1 events.
The result adds another international medal to Georgievski’s record and confirms his strong form going into the remainder of the season.
