Bulgaria beat Portugal 3–0 at EuroVolley 2026 in Sofia
Bulgaria dominated in Sofia with a 3:0 win (25:18, 25:18, 25:20); Portugal are a key Group B rival for North Macedonia.

On 11 September 2026 Bulgaria recorded a convincing straight-sets win over Portugal at EuroVolley 2026, beating the visitors 3:0 in Sofia with set scores of 25:18, 25:18 and 25:20.
Bulgaria kept control for most of the match, although Portugal showed early promise in the opening set. The hosts gradually seized the initiative and, backed by a sequence of strong serves and effective blocks, closed out the first set 25:18.
Consistent home performance
The pattern repeated in the next two sets, with Bulgaria dictating the tempo and not allowing Portugal to mount a comeback. The home side registered their second victory at the tournament without facing major resistance.
Portugal remain an important opponent in Group B. They will be one of North Macedonia's key rivals for progression to the round of 16.
North Macedonia, coached by Milenkoski, will meet Portugal in the fourth round of the group stage.
