Dubai started brightly and opened a 9-2 lead, but Crvena Zvezda soon settled and took control of the game. The first quarter finished 21-16 in favor of the hosts, only for the visitors to reply with a 21-10 second quarter that swung the match decisively.
After halftime the visitors kept their tempo and gradually built the margin, never allowing Dubai to mount a comeback. The final score read 58:77, with Crvena Zvezda managing the closing stages professionally to protect and extend their advantage.
Individual numbers
Ibon Navarro finished as the game’s top scorer with 20 points for Crvena Zvezda, while Dubai’s leading scorer was Bejkon with 13 points.
In the earlier evening slot, Maccabi defeated Milano 97-79. Milano’s Macedonia international Moses Wright was outstanding with 23 points, but his performance could not prevent the visitors’ defeat.
The result in Dubai gives Crvena Zvezda momentum as the EuroLeague schedule tightens; whether this marks the start of a longer winning streak remains to be seen.
