Customs seizes 595 silver rings at Blace border crossing
Rings totaling 1.7 kilograms were found hidden under car seats; authorities say the smuggling aimed to avoid duties.

The Customs Administration seized 595 silver rings at the Blace border crossing after officers discovered them hidden under car seats, the agency said.
How the jewellery was discovered
Customs inspectors found the rings concealed beneath seating during a vehicle check at the Blace border crossing. The seized items weigh a total of 1.7 kilograms and were confiscated as evidence.
Authorities say the jewellery had been hidden with the intent of evading payment of duties. "The offence was recorded with body cameras," the Customs Administration added.
An appropriate procedure will be initiated against the perpetrator, the agency said. The case remains under formal processing by customs officials.
The operation at Blace is the latest in routine controls by customs personnel at border crossings aimed at preventing undeclared goods from entering the country.
