Entire Partizan board to resign; coach Saša Ilić to leave after Getafe rematch

Partizan Belgrade announced that the club's entire executive board and head coach Saša Ilić will submit their resignations after the return leg against Getafe, regardless of the match result. The club said the decision reflects responsibility for recent results and the current state of the team.

Next leadership to be decided at autumn assembly

The statement from the club said that a new leadership will be chosen by the club assembly, which has been scheduled for the period from 21 to 25 September. The outgoing board emphasised that their departure is not conditioned on the outcome of the Getafe rematch.

The move follows a run of disappointing results in domestic competition. Mladost Lučani beat Partizan 3:1 at home in the sixth round of the Serbian SuperLiga, a loss that increased pressure on the club's management and coaching staff.

Earlier, Partizan also lost to Getafe in the play-off for the Europa Conference League qualifying round, and the club's leadership cited that European setback among the reasons for taking full responsibility and stepping down.

The club is based in Humska and said the resignations will be handed in after the Getafe return leg, after which the assembly will convene to determine the next executive team.
