Boban Popovski's goal against France was nominated for third place in the EHF Top-5 for the first phase of the M18 EHF EURO 2026.

Boban Popovski's zeppelin goal against France was included among the five most beautiful goals from the first phase of the M18 EHF EURO, which is taking place in Belgrade.
Popovski placed third in the EHF Top-5
That spectacular goal, scored in the match of North Macedonia's youth national team against France, won third place on the list compiled by the European Handball Federation of the best goals from the previous phase.
The EHF published the list on 2 August 2026 and promoted it on social media: "The list of the 5 BIGGEST GOALS from the pre-qualification phase of M18 #ehfeuro2026 is here! 🔥 Who is your favorite? 🤔 #followthefuture #handball" — the EHF wrote on its profile.
For North Macedonia's cadet team the nomination is recognition that some of the dramatic plays and creative solutions on the court can attract attention at the European level. Popovski executed the goal with a combination of timing, aerial control and precision.
Although individual moments do not determine the standings, they bring visibility and motivation to the team in the dynamic group phase. The M18 championship continues in Belgrade, where North Macedonia will try to build on the positive signs from the opening and develop continuity in its performances.
The coaches and players are focused on the upcoming matches, hoping that energetic moments like Popovski's zeppelin will transform into consistent team displays.
