Calhanoglu gives Inter a 1-0 win at Cagliari; Fratesi decides Lazio–Genoa
Calhanoglu scored in the ninth minute as Inter beat Cagliari 1-0; Lazio also won 1-0 at home against Genoa with Fratesi on target.

Inter claimed a second straight Serie A victory on the opening weekend by edging Cagliari 1-0 away on 30.08.2026, thanks to an early strike from Hakan Calhanoglu.
Early breakthrough and tight finish
Calhanoglu put the visitors ahead in the ninth minute with a precise finish after a pass from Nicolo Barella, giving Kristijan Kivu's side an early lead that they held until the final whistle. Cagliari pushed to find an equaliser but could not convert their chances.
Inter's defence remained compact for much of the game, limiting clear openings and frustrating the home team’s attempts to force a result. The narrow scoreline reflects a match where the single moment of quality decided the outcome.
Elsewhere on the same evening, Lazio also recorded a 1-0 victory, beating Genoa at the Olimpico. The match was decided by a solitary goal from Fratesi, securing three points for the home side.
The domestic weekend also included a draw in a lower-profile fixture: Belasica and Detonit played out a stalemate earlier in the day.
Both Inter and Lazio will look to build on their positive starts as Serie A moves forward, each hoping the early wins will provide momentum for the fixtures ahead.
