Chelsea officially sign left-back Pep Chavarria
Spanish left-back signs for Chelsea from Rayo Vallecano on a deal lasting until 2031.

Chelsea have completed the signing of left-back Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano and presented him as a new first-team player on 12 August 2026.
The Spanish full-back has signed a contract running until 2031, a long-term deal that the club and player described as a major step in his career.
New challenge at Stamford Bridge
Chavarria arrives after a standout spell at Rayo Vallecano, where he made 44 appearances last season and helped the Madrid club reach the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League. Chelsea expect him to add depth and competition on the left side of defence.
Speaking at his unveiling, Chavarria said: "I'm very excited to get started. This is a dream come true, because Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's a great opportunity, but I'm ready and will work hard to help the team achieve success. There are many people who helped me reach this point and I must thank my family. They have always supported me and today it is possible only thanks to them," he added.
The transfer was formally announced on 12.08.2026 at 15:40. Chelsea fans will now watch how the 24-year-old (age not stated in the announcement) adapts to the Premier League and the tactical demands of his new manager.
