Four gold and three silver medals for Macedonian kickboxers in Budapest

The Macedonian kickboxing team completed a successful campaign at the 31st World Kickboxing Cup in Budapest, returning home with four gold and three silver medals after competing among 2,011 competitors with 3,012 entries from 47 countries.

At the top of the podium for North Macedonia were Petre Velkov, Andrej Smilevski and Kalin Baboski, each claiming gold after victories in their respective final bouts. Turker Ismail also captured a gold medal in the kick light discipline, reaching the title with a perfect record of four wins in four fights.

Senior and youth results

Radoslav Veleski completed the senior-team medal tally with a silver medal. The Macedonian delegation was also represented in the refereeing team: international judge Elena Kostadinovska served on the officiating panel at the prestigious Budapest event.

Alongside the World Cup programme, the Hungarian Open Cup '26 for children and younger cadets took place, where the youngest Macedonian fighters also shone. Mitko Chavkov won gold in the under-42 kilogram category, while Aleksandar Iliev took silver in the same weight class.

The results underline a strong showing from North Macedonia across age groups in Budapest and provide momentum for the national team ahead of future international competitions.
