Four-year-old girl taken to Emergency after ingesting part of a laundry capsule
The police reported that on August 1, 2026 at 8:30 PM the girl from Berovo was brought to Emergency; a public prosecutor has been notified.
A four-year-old girl from Berovo was brought to the Emergency Medical Service after ingesting part of a laundry detergent capsule in the family home, the police reported.
“On August 1, 2026 at 8:30 PM, the Berovo Police Department was informed by the Berovo Emergency Medical Service that a four-year-old girl from Berovo had been brought to them, who in the family home had ingested part of a laundry detergent capsule,” the police said.
Prosecutor notified and measures to clarify the incident
The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed that a public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Berovo has been notified and that measures are being taken to clarify the incident.
The police did not provide additional information about the child's health condition or the circumstances in the home that led to the incident, other than that the child had been transported to Emergency.
In such cases, services usually carry out initial checks that include inspecting the packaging, examining the scene of the incident and speaking with family members to establish all the facts.
The police and health teams urge caution in storing cleaning agents and in the ways such products are accessible to minors in households.
