Four injured after car runs off road and burns in Croatia; driver fell asleep
A 50-year-old Romanian driver reportedly fell asleep; the car hit a guardrail and caught fire, injuring four people.

Four Romanian nationals were injured in a road traffic crash in Croatia after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and the car caught fire.
The investigation determined that a 50-year-old Romanian man, driving a privately owned car with British licence plates, dozed off behind the wheel. The vehicle ran off the road, struck a metal safety barrier, rebounded and then ignited.
Besides the driver, the car carried a 45-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a minor; all are Romanian citizens and were injured in the collision.
Prosecutorial action and investigation
Authorities said a criminal complaint will be filed against the 50-year-old driver for causing a traffic accident. The probe focuses on the circumstances that led the vehicle to leave the roadway and the ignition that followed the impact with the guardrail.
No further details on the victims' injuries or their medical condition were released.
