CSKA Sofia reopens renovated Bulgarian Army Stadium
After three years away, CSKA Sofia returned to the renovated Bulgarian Army Stadium with around 18,000 fans present.

CSKA Sofia officially reopened the rebuilt Bulgarian Army Stadium in a spectacular ceremony on October 31, 2026, marking the club’s return home after three years away.
Historic return and new capacity
Approximately 18,000 supporters filled the stands for the historic moment as the team moved back into the fully renovated facility. The stadium now has a domestic-match capacity of 18,540 seats, covered stands and upgraded, modern infrastructure.
The reopening concluded a multi-year renovation that kept the club away from its traditional venue for three seasons. Club officials staged an opening event that combined ceremony and celebration to mark the completion of the works.
Fans on the terraces saw the first public use of the upgraded spectator areas and facilities, while the club announced the venue will serve as its home ground for domestic competitions going forward.
The return to the rebuilt stadium signals a new chapter for CSKA Sofia as it aims to make full use of the improved capacity and infrastructure in upcoming fixtures.
