Center for Crisis Management: Of eight fires by 13:00 only one remains active

Published: August 11, 2026, 13:24 — Eight separate fires in open areas across North Macedonia were recorded by 13:00 on Tuesday; of those, one remains active, rescue services reported in the afternoon.

Status and locations

The Center for Crisis Management said the only active blaze is in the Makedonski Brod municipality, in a place called "Viduš", close to the village of Dragov Dol. The fire is burning low vegetation, low-stemmed woodland and shrubs.

Another fire has been brought under control at the municipal landfill in Delchevo.

Fires declared extinguished so far were registered in the municipalities of Vinica, Vrvjenica, Kumanovo, Lozovo, Centar Župa and Štip.

Authorities said crews responded to all eight incidents and concentrated resources on preventing spread from the active site near Makedonski Brod while damping down hotspots at the other locations.

Officials urged residents in the affected areas to remain cautious and to report any new outbreaks immediately to emergency services.
