Is Julian Nagelsmann being considered as Michael Carrick's successor at Old Trafford?
Board divided between candidates after 4:1 defeat at Como; Nagelsmann is among names mooted.

Manchester United are already drawing up contingency plans should they decide to part ways with manager Majkl Kerik, and one of the names under consideration is German tactician Julian Nagelsmann.
Inside Old Trafford there are differing views on who would best replace Kerik. Sporting director Jason Wilcox is said to favour the Brighton coach Fabijan Hirceler, while the club's recruitment director Kristofer Vivel reportedly prefers Nagelsmann.
Pressure after European setback
The pressure on Kerik intensified after a heavy 4:1 defeat away to Como in the Champions League, a result that has intensified questions about his future at Old Trafford and prompted the board to examine possible successors.
Nagelsmann, who has previously managed Bayern Munich and the German national team, is widely regarded as one of the most promising coaches of his generation and therefore appears on United's short list as a potential long-term option.
The club's debate reflects a wider dilemma: choose a coach who fits the current squad and recruitment model, or pursue a high-profile name capable of reshaping the team. Any decision is likely to depend on results in the coming weeks and the board's final assessment of Kerik's position.
