Luis de la Fuente: Lamine Yamal has everything to become a legend

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente praised the development of Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal and said the young forward now influences the team in ways beyond his individual brilliance.

De la Fuente highlighted a change in how Yamal perceives his role, saying the player has grown into someone who helps the side collectively rather than relying solely on flashes of individual talent.

"He has matured a lot because he has realised that he can help the team in other ways. Not only with his talent and the incredible things he does. I liked that a lot, and so did the team," the Spanish coach said.

De la Fuente also underlined Yamal's character and constant hunger for improvement: "Lamine is an insatiable player. He always wants to be better, better and even better, because that's what we demand here. He is never satisfied with his performances."

On the price of that exacting standard he added: "I think that assessment and that exactingness are sometimes very unfair. But at the same time, without such high demands, he will never reach the level he aspires to."

Summing up his view of the youngster's ceiling, De la Fuente was unequivocal: "Lamine has everything he needs to become a football legend."
